About the Practice:

Responsibilities:
The dental hygienist will be responsible for performing licensed hygiene procedures, educating patients, and managing the nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by the dentist. Key responsibilities include:

Verifying and documenting patient health history
Educating patients about oral hygiene, health, and disease
Performing clinical hygiene functions, including exposing and evaluating diagnostic x-rays, taking and recording blood pressure, and providing adult and child prophylaxis

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the dental hygienist must have a dental hygiene certification from an accredited dental hygiene school and a current hygiene license where employed. Additionally, they must maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training as required by law. Experience with dental software is also preferred.
