Job Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams, demonstrating expertise in cross-sectional anatomy as it pertains to ultrasound, and recognizing the significance of all structures visualized on the ultrasound unit. This role requires the ability to differentiate artifacts from normal or pathological processes in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound exams on patients, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy as it pertains to ultrasound, recognizing the significance of all structures visualized on the ultrasound unit.
• Differentiate artifacts from normal or pathological processes in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Must complete in-house orientation program.
• Graduate of an A.M.A. accredited school of ultrasound.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience and Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Speaks, reads, and writes English.
• Ultrasound skills in general diagnostic, OB/GYN, vascular, pediatric, and GU.
• Breast Ultrasound experience is a plus.

License/Certifications

• R.D.M. is required and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).

Working Conditions

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn.
• Standing: particularly for sustained periods of time.
• Pushing: using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
• Pulling: using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
• Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, &/or up to 30 lbs. of force frequently, &/or up 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Repetitive motion: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
