POSITION SUMMARY

KKCS is seeking a qualified Cost/Schedule Analyst to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This full-time position involves supporting cost and scheduling functions on capital projects, including the development, monitoring, and analysis of cost, budget, and schedule components for projects of varying complexity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of cost reduction strategies, value engineering, and risk assessment recommendations to enhance project cost efficiency.
  • Help determine the scheduling sequence for design, bidding, and awarding of construction and professional services contracts to ensure timely project completion.
  • Support the analysis and development of alternatives to prevent potential project schedule delays.
  • Contribute to the preparation of detailed project schedules to establish optimal contract interfaces and determine activity relationships for accurate project planning.
  • Utilize quantitative engineering models to implement performance measurement reporting and forecast project budget, finance, and schedule.
  • Coordinate the preparation of "what if" plans (sensitivity analysis) to mitigate cost overruns and schedule delays, exploring opportunities to enhance schedules without increasing costs.
  • Assist Project Management in cost reduction, value engineering, and risk assessment recommendations for project cost and schedule effectiveness.
  • Help determine the scheduling sequence for all phases of engineering, construction, testing, and startup to achieve timely project completion.
  • Analyze and provide alternatives to avoid potential project schedule delays and claims.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules to establish optimal contract interfaces and accurately plan project completion.
  • Prepare and review special studies, cost/schedule forecasts, and time impact analyses.
  • Review and provide recommendations as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or business
  • Three to five (3 to 5) years of relevant project experience
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in spreadsheets, graphics, database management, and word processing software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commitment to pursuing AACE International Certification is preferred.
