POSITION SUMMARY:

The Education Specialist - Technical Assistance Specialist is responsible for delivering targeted support to family childcare homes and childcare centers affiliated with the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County, including those involved in the Strong Minds Program. This role necessitates the ability to analyze and interpret program data to assist providers in enhancing their classroom practices. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing their schedule, working autonomously, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, comprehending and executing procedures and practices, and demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in their responsibilities.


WORK HOURS:

This is a full-time role, with business hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional longer hours, evenings, and weekends may be required. This position may involve significant local travel within Palm Beach County for meetings, training sessions, and other essential duties.

SALARY RANGE: $20 - $24.72 per hour, based on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide coaching and technical assistance to early childhood programs to establish realistic goals and objectives that promote quality enhancement.
  • Promote coaching and technical assistance services to all providers, including those at Emerging, Promising, or In Network status levels.
  • Assist providers in formulating improvement plans based on recent Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) assessment scores and program objectives, focusing on all core quality building blocks.
  • Maintain data for reporting related to training and coaching activities. Document all relevant coaching and technical assistance efforts in the statewide information system, Strong Minds and/or WELS system.
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable about applicable current early care and education regulations, guidelines, standards, and rules for state, federal, and locally funded programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Health and Human Services, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university is required.
  • A minimum of two years of coaching and/or training experience is essential.
  • At least one year of experience in Early Education is required.
  • Proven ability in techniques used to train, teach, coach, and provide hands-on assistance to others.
  • Familiarity with or prior experience utilizing the CLASS Assessment Tools is preferred.
