Based in Chantilly, VA, this mid-level position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation satellite spaceflight safety systems.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Java and object-oriented programming principles, as well as experience with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling. This role involves reviewing, packaging, and updating software to screen satellite orbits for hazards, as well as interfacing with multiple teammates to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software components to ensure satellite safety and mission success
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and efficient software solutions
  • Apply expertise in Java and related technologies to address complex software engineering challenges
  • Participate in Agile sprint planning and execution to deliver high-quality software products on time
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to the growth and development of the team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or development with Java
  • US Citizenship required; Top Secret / SCI security clearance with a willingness to take a CI Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oracle Java Certification or equivalent
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer or equivalent
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins
  • Familiarity with web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
Compensation and Benefits

Omitron, Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $139,000 to $197,000, commensurate with relevant experience, location, and other factors.
