Job Description:

As a High-Tech RF Systems Engineer at KBR, you will play a crucial role in assisting the government in acquiring new capabilities and upgrades. This position involves advising on new systems acquisitions, delivering new capabilities, and providing subject matter expertise on acquisition-related decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising New Systems Acquisitions: Assist the government in acquiring new capabilities and upgrades.
  • Delivering New Capabilities: Regular communications with users to understand new requirements, working with development contractors to understand requirements and develop plans to deliver new capabilities, working with Operations to coordinate testing and the final delivery of new capabilities to fulfill user requirements.
  • Systems Architectures: Develop and implement various systems architectures and act as a subject matter expert in advising the government clients on acquisition-related decisions.
  • RF Testing: Witness equipment installations and testing.
  • Proposal Review and Development: Assist the government in contract-related work, including the development of Statements of Work, proposal review, and development contractor performance assessments.
  • Network Architecture: Focus on understanding detailed network architectures that make up the systems and work with developers and operations to troubleshoot network issues.

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel up to 15% within the United States and OCONUS
  • Working Hours: Standard

Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Clearance: TS/SCI with a Polygraph
    • Education: Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree
    • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Desired:
    • Satellite Systems Experience: 3 years of experience with Commercial/Government acquisition of satellite/ground segment hardware/software or satellite-based special communications field set hardware/software.
    • Education: Master's in Engineer, Computer Science, or related technical degree
    • IT Networks: Good understanding of standard IT networks, performance, topologies, etc.
    • Radio Frequency: Prior experience with RF-based satellite communications.
    • Digital Signals: Prior experience with digital signal processing.
