About the Job

The Santa Fe Public Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Counselor, High School to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that aligns with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model.

The Counselor, High School will provide academic, career, and personal/social guidance and counseling to high school students, as well as support teachers and staff in implementing school-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in school counseling and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program that aligns with the ASCA National Model
  • Provide academic, career, and personal/social guidance and counseling to high school students
  • Support teachers and staff in implementing school-wide initiatives
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and community agencies to support student success
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school counseling program
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Counseling or related field
  • Current School Counselor License from the New Mexico Public Education Department
  • Experience working with high school students and families
  • Strong background in school counseling and commitment to creating a safe and supportive learning environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with the ASCA National Model
  • Ability to speak Spanish
