Job Title: School Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Counselor to join our team at Santa Fe Public Schools. As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, career, and personal/social development of our students.

Job Summary:

The School Counselor will provide comprehensive school counseling and guidance services to elementary school students, including academic guidance, career guidance, and personal/social support. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Counseling with 15 graduate hours in School Counseling and a current School Counselor License from the New Mexico Public Education Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a data-driven comprehensive school counseling and guidance program that aligns with the ASCA National Model.
  2. Provide academic guidance to elementary school students, including test result analysis and data-driven interventions.
  3. Provide career guidance to elementary school students, including grade-level career interest/life planning/college awareness activities.
  4. Provide personal and social support to students and parents, including short-term individual counseling and referrals to community resources.
  5. Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver structured developmental grade-level guidance curriculum that aligns with the ASCA National Standards.
  6. Participate in Wellness Team and Crisis/Safety Team, and support district and campus procedures for policy enforcement on substance use and violence.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Counseling with 15 graduate hours in School Counseling.
  • Current School Counselor License from the New Mexico Public Education Department.
  • Working knowledge of ASCA National Model.
  • Previous experience working with the ASCA National Model is preferred.
