Job Summary

South Shore Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MRI Assistant to join our team. As an MRI Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our MRI department, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our team of MRI Technologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist MRI Technologists in performing various duties and procedures necessary for the everyday operations of the MRI department and patient schedule.
  • Screen patients, obtain pertinent clinical history before MRI examination, and review with the MRI Technologist.
  • Greets patients in a prompt and courteous manner, assists patients with changing for the exam, and assists in sliding patients on and off the stretcher to the MRI scan table.
  • Assist Technologists with positioning of patients, assist in changing MRI coils, and assist patients in and out of the scan room.
  • Transport patients when needed, conduct proper discharge of patients, and assist in monitoring safe access to the MRI suite.
  • Ensure the stocking of scan rooms and linen closets, complete special projects as requested by management, and read and respond to all relevant communications.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED completion is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computer (PC) systems and ability to learn basic scheduling software and work with word processing applications.
  • Medical terminology is helpful.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service.
Working Conditions

Frequent standing and walking are required. No driving is involved. Frequent activity is required, including pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending. Light lifting is required (
