Job Title: Senior FPGA Design Engineer

Ouster is seeking a highly skilled Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation lidar systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop FPGA-based systems for lidar applications
  • Develop and integrate features across our FPGA stack
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of FPGA designs with software and hardware components
  • Perform hands-on work using laboratory tools for board bring-up and troubleshooting
  • Work on high-impact customer-facing features and integrate customer feedback into the development process
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in FPGA development, including HDL code development, simulation, test bench development, synthesis, and timing closure
  • Highly proficient in HDLs like Verilog and SystemVerilog (or VHDL)
  • Proficient in C or C++ programming language
  • Experience with Xilinx or Intel FPGA toolchain
  • Strong embedded system development experience in CPU and FPGA-based devices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with HLS, Vivado, and Vitis tools
  • Familiarity with DSP and algorithm development
  • Experience with leading verification methodologies like UVM
  • Experience using best practices with version control technologies like Git
  • Experienced Linux user
  • Proficient in some scripting languages like TCL, Python, bash

Ouster offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $240,000 per year, depending on skills, work experience, location, and qualifications. This role may also be eligible for equity and benefits.
