The Material Handling Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse. Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operates machinery while maintaining optimal production flow and quality standards.
  • Transports pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials to designated areas, ensuring the integrity of all items handled.
  • Unloads materials from trailers, verifies roll numbers and weights against manifest labels, and organizes items within the warehouse.
  • Ensures proper finishing and labeling of finished goods and roll stock materials according to customer specifications.
  • Accurately relocates materials and finished goods using scanning devices or computer terminals.
  • Records weights of materials or products on appropriate tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Completes necessary documentation for shipping and roll stock requisitions.
  • Conducts daily maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, battery recharges, and gas tank replacements.
  • Utilizes air hoses for cleaning equipment.
  • Properly changes batteries when indicators signal the need for replacement and reports any equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations, including plant safety, AIB, and GMP standards.
  • Follows OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Completes tasks as assigned by management and performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree from an accredited institution or trade school.
  • Two to three years of experience in the printing industry is desirable.
  • Completion of Safety Orientation, Departmental Safety Training, and OSHA Standards Training is mandatory.
  • Strong time management skills and reliability in attendance.
  • Ability to follow instructions and requests from supervisors and management.
  • Proactive in seeking information regarding orders and job responsibilities.
  • Effective communication skills with fellow operators during shift changes.
  • Maintains a clean and obstruction-free work area.
  • Complies with departmental safety practices, including the use of protective equipment and proper machine guard placement.
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, instructions, and correspondence.
  • Capable of presenting information effectively in small group settings.
  • Ability to apply common sense in executing instructions and solving problems.
