We are currently hiring a Material Coordinator III. The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting and organizing metal materials according to guidelines, maintaining good housekeeping of assigned areas, dismantling and separating materials using hand tools or machine operations, and assembling and packaging metals for shipping. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $18 per hour, paid weekly. The schedule is from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  1. Sort and organize metal materials into bins, boxes, or bags.
  2. Operate and observe machines that chop and separate metals.
  3. Sort materials by hand at shredder, shaker table, or other machines.
  4. Dismantle metal using hand tools or mechanical means.
  5. Experience working in two or more departments.
  6. Demonstrate ability to operate a forklift.
  7. Ability to work without supervision and accomplish tasks provided.
  8. Perform routine inspections of work areas to ensure proper housekeeping.
  9. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety, or HR.
  10. Follow daily procedures and protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
  11. Demonstrate good judgment and ask questions as needed.
  12. Maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  13. Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals.
  14. Will to follow direction of department leaders.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
  2. Adherence to health and safety regulations (constant use of protective gear).
  3. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
  4. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
  5. Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  6. Use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  7. Ability to grasp, handle, separate, and hold objects.
  8. Reach with hands and arms.
  9. Ability to stand, kneel, bend, sit, and use stairs or a ladder.
  10. Maintain safety as a high priority in all aspects of responsibility.
  11. Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
