Join Our Team as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer

We deliver creative solutions for foundational work, subterranean construction, earth structures, groundwater management, and challenging building sites. Our team of geotechnical engineers and geologists is proficient in addressing issues such as landslides, sinkholes, mine subsidence, seepage, expansive soils, and seismic phenomena. We have successfully executed over 1,000 subsurface and geophysical projects nationwide, ranging from minor undertakings to large-scale dams, highways, bridges, and underground facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct geotechnical personnel in the planning and execution of field investigations, construction initiatives, laboratory assessments, and the design and analysis of both shallow and deep foundations.
  • Oversee stability and seepage evaluations of earthen embankments, settlement assessments, earth retention systems, and ground enhancement evaluations for intricate sites.
  • Generate or assess comprehensive design packages, including geotechnical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Collaborate within a team framework to deliver geotechnical engineering services.
  • Act as the lead geotechnical engineer or project manager for a diverse array of engineering projects for both public and private sector clients.
  • Contribute to proposal development and engage in various business development initiatives.
  • Support senior staff in nurturing client relationships, including business expansion and new client acquisition to broaden our service offerings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is essential.
  • A Master's Degree with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is mandatory.
  • 15-20 years of geotechnical experience, particularly in the design and development of geotechnical deliverables such as investigations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications is required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is advantageous.
  • Experience with common geotechnical software tools like SLIDE, SLOPE/W, LPILE, APILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, Settle3, and gINT or OpenGround is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in FEM analysis and GIS is a plus.
  • Field experience in construction oversight for bridge projects, highway projects, deep foundations, and sinkhole and landslide remediation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, as required.
  • A valid Driver's License is necessary.
