Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize animal enclosures, including dog kennels, cat cages, and isolation areas.
- Maintain the cleanliness of food and water bowls, litter boxes, and other equipment.
- Operate washing and drying equipment to clean animal bedding.
- Feed animals according to our shelter schedule.
- Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist with animal intake and release procedures.
- Provide basic care and handling of animals, including administering medications as directed by our shelter veterinarian.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the shelter's mission and goals.
The Central New York SPCA has been dedicated to protecting and serving animals in our community since 1891. Our organization was founded in response to the mistreatment of mules pulling barges on the Erie Canal, and we continue to work tirelessly to address the issues of animal neglect and cruelty in our region.
