Overview
Under the supervision of a designated manager, oversee and secure the college premises to ensure the safety and welfare of individuals, structures, grounds, equipment, and other assets of the District.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular patrols of campus facilities and grounds, both on foot and via vehicle; protect property from fire, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access; ensure the safety of parked vehicles; enforce parking regulations; issue citations for violations; inspect and verify the security of doors, windows, and gates; manage lighting systems; secure access points in driveways.
Investigate and report the presence of unauthorized individuals on campus or within buildings; manage disturbances in accordance with departmental protocols; observe and document incidents; assist in the apprehension of offenders when necessary. Assess unusual or potentially hazardous situations; report detected leaks or malfunctions in electrical, plumbing, heating, or other systems; notify relevant personnel regarding impaired equipment; take appropriate emergency measures.
Provide escort services for faculty, staff, and students as needed.
Report emergency medical situations, including illnesses, shock, seizures, and bleeding; summon appropriate emergency medical services.
Prepare routine reports of activities, including incident and accident reports; issue parking citations and warnings; assist security personnel as required.
Transport funds as requested.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and one year of experience in a security role. Additional specialized training in law enforcement, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proof of completion of School Security Course certification.Possession of current Guard Card.Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license. Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid CPR and First Aid certifications. Successful completion of pre-employment physical assessment. Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.

Knowledge and Skills
KNOWLEDGE OF:Principles and procedures of investigation, arrest, search, and seizure. Procedures for crowd management and emergency response. Principles and procedures for record keeping and report preparation.
ABILITY TO:Learn and apply relevant provisions of the State Penal Code, Vehicle Code, and Education Code. Operate a patrol vehicle and related equipment safely and effectively. Conduct investigations in accordance with District policy. Analyze and respond to situations promptly and independently according to District policy. Understand and follow both oral and written instructions. Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals encountered during the course of work.
SALARY RANGE
$ 3, $ 4,899.91 monthly
Maximum Entry Level Salary: $ 3,643.36
