Job Title: Construction Line Worker

Windstream is seeking a skilled Construction Line Worker to join our team. As a Construction Line Worker, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining poles, cables, and conduits. You will also install aerial and buried cables with associated hardware as required to build jobs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, and maintain poles, cables, and conduits.
  • Install aerial and buried cables with associated hardware.
  • Run fiber optic and copper cable, both aerial and in underground infrastructure.
  • Maintain the safety of the crew by providing direction regarding procedures, road safety, and manhole safety.
  • Attend safety meetings, maintain inventory, and perform routine maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Ability to use a variety of construction equipment to complete installations.
  • Outside plant construction experience, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of poles and buried or aerial cable.
  • Pole climbing certification.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to work an on-call schedule rotation as well as days/nights/overnights/weekends/holidays/overtime, as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT certification pre-hire.
  • Minimum qualifications to obtain a CDL post-hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of construction experience.
  • OSHA 10 Hour Safety Course and Buck Squeeze (Pole Climbing Certifications).
  • Proficient at operating various construction equipment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) not required but welcome.
