Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Line Worker to join our team at Johnson Controls. As an Assembly Line Worker, you will be responsible for performing a combination of production assembly tasks to ensure conformance to specifications and continuous production consistent with established standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Production: Assemble parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a bench or conveyor line in an open-air manufacturing environment.
  • Quality Control: Perform first article inspection for conformance to specifications both blueprint and work order, and detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisors.
  • Safety and Teamwork: Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions, comply with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures, and build teamwork by working with other departments, shifts, and management to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to manage time and deliver results, troubleshoot and provide solutions with the understanding of value-add versus non-value add activities, and improve the ratio.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Availability to work overtime and/or move between shifts for training and/or coverage purposes to support production as needed, and willingness to train on and perform all assembly positions in all production areas and on all product varieties within the facility.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED and previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to read, communicate, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings in the English Language.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment, and exposed to non-toxic fumes, chemicals, grease, and oils, ability to work with machinery and moving parts, operate crane, truck, motor vehicles, work with moving vehicles, ladders, and scaffolding, work at heights, and in confined spaces, and ability to properly lift/carry/push/pull/manipulate/transport up to 30 lbs.
Working Conditions

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surface, exposure to recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, or similar activities, and ability to reach at high levels.
