Job Summary

This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and dependability of products by conducting complex testing and troubleshooting of various electronic components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics technology and excellent technical proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex testing and troubleshooting of electronic components and systems
  • Analyze unit failures to determine probable cause and interface with support engineers and/or Production Supervisor for corrective action
  • Record shift testing and troubleshooting data on applicable data systems
  • Coordinate inter-shift communications on problems and new procedures when necessary
  • Work from initial test procedures and recommend changes/improvements to test engineers
  • Recommend changes to test procedures; upon approval from test engineering or the customer, implement those changes
  • Provide technical assistance in testing and troubleshooting as needed to lower-level technicians
  • Follow testing procedures and ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven years electronics technology experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Must be able to troubleshoot to component level
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscope, voltmeter, toneohm, and RCL meter
  • Must be able to read/interpret schematics
  • Requires a mixture of standing and sitting
  • May require handling of/or exposure to chemicals used in the assembly process
  • Requires lifting of up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Inter, intra-departmental and external contact required
  • Experience operating automated test equipment utilizing LabVIEW and/or TestStand
  • Experience with in-circuit programmers/debuggers (JTAG, Boundary Scan)
