Children's Services Program Supervisor

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the children's programs at the shelter, encompassing infant care, after-school activities, and support groups.
Accountable for overseeing the children's services team, which includes Child Care Workers, Recreation Specialists, and Interns.
Develop and execute suitable curricula for childcare and recreational initiatives to guarantee that educational and supportive services are delivered in a well-organized setting.
Supervise children's evaluations for early education, mental health support, medical care, and homework assistance.Participate in case conferences to contribute insights regarding children's behavior and adaptation to the shelter environment.
Offer guidance to parents following best practices in child development.
Create engaging recreational opportunities for the childcare and recreation programs, such as on-site therapeutic arts and crafts, as well as excursions to parks, museums, zoos, and other educational venues.
Establish a network of relevant resources, including community organizations and social service providers.Collaborate with external support services, including educational departments and early childhood programs.
Oversee the procurement and inventory management of supplies, equipment, and materials for childcare and recreational activities.
Review resident records for adherence to compliance and best practices, including routine evaluations of progress notes and service plans.
Facilitate staff training and professional development opportunities.
Assist in report preparation and program assessment.
Address client grievances and conduct necessary investigations.
Enhance awareness of the organization's domestic violence services by engaging in activities such as presenting at conferences and other speaking events.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Social Work Supervisor and Program Director.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field.
Master's Degree is preferred.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with children.
At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.
Experience in supporting victims of domestic violence.
Must possess knowledge and sensitivity towards issues related to child development, domestic violence, and child abuse.
Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Compensation:
$26.37/hr - $30.21/hr
