Role Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst is an integral member of the US Cost Control Team, tasked with overseeing budget coordination, re-forecasting, and the analysis of operational expenditures. This role requires the development, interpretation, and application of financial principles for effective financial planning and oversight. Additionally, the analyst will conduct assessments to evaluate current and prospective financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Expense Planning and Forecasting:
    Collaborate with diverse business partners to create and assess an annual operating expense plan, including monthly forecasts and updates. Analyze variances between planned, actual, and re-forecasted figures to support sound operational decisions.
  2. Expense Management:
    Prepare reconciliations for expenses and intercompany transactions. Compile a detailed analysis package for monthly evaluations and identify outstanding expenses to ensure comprehensive accruals.
  3. Additional Duties:
    Assist with ad hoc requests and contribute to the preparation of monthly management information, including reports and performance metrics. Support the establishment of business requirements and the implementation of new digital finance solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: BA/BS in a business or quantitative discipline, such as Finance or Accounting. Professional certifications like CPA, CFA, or an MBA are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years in finance, accounting, actuarial, or strategic roles, ideally within the life insurance sector, with at least 2 years focused on financial planning and budgeting.
  • Skills: Strong financial acumen with a background in financial reporting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all organizational levels. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and databases is essential, while familiarity with programming languages such as SQL or Python is a plus.
