Position Overview

The Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an Electroanalytical Postdoctoral Researcher to collaborate with our specialized Electroanalytical team within the Analytical Chemistry & Characterization department. This role involves conducting pioneering research aimed at elucidating mechanistic and kinetic aspects of redox and chemically-coupled electron transfer reactions, which are critical to electrochemical separation and energy conversion/storage methodologies.

As part of this role, the researcher will utilize cutting-edge in-situ molecular and interfacial spectroelectrochemical techniques, complemented by computational analysis. This position is structured for a duration of two years, with the possibility of extension to three years.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • A PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline, with all requirements completed prior to the start of the appointment and within the last five years.
  • Demonstrated experience in Redox Chemistry of Organic/Inorganic Systems within non-aqueous (air-sensitive) electrolyte environments.
  • A solid understanding of electron transfer mechanisms, mass transport phenomena, and chemically-coupled processes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with in-situ electronic and vibrational spectroelectrochemical methodologies and chemometric analysis.
Compensation and Benefits

The target salary for this role is $96,900. Compensation decisions at Idaho National Laboratory are influenced by factors such as educational background, relevant experience, and other qualifications.
