Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Data Engineer to join our team in Princeton, NJ. This role will involve working on challenging projects, developing novel data processing frameworks, and collaborating with experts to advance our research initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you will need:
- a Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, data science, or a related field;
- 5-8 years of experience in bioinformatics, data engineering, or related roles;
- proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java;
- experience with data processing frameworks and tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop);
- strong knowledge of bioinformatics databases, tools, and resources (e.g., NCBI, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser);
- experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS);
- familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows;
- excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
- strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data findings to a non-technical audience.
