Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, candidates must demonstrate their educational background and specialized experience in their resume.

Educational Requirements:
Applicants must possess a degree in Engineering. The program should either:
1. Lead to a bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program, or
2. Include advanced coursework in calculus and five of the following seven engineering science areas:
- Statics and Dynamics
- Strength of Materials
- Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics
- Thermodynamics
- Electrical Fields and Circuits
- Properties of Materials
- Other comparable engineering science areas.

Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that provides a thorough understanding of the physical and mathematical sciences related to engineering may be acceptable.

Professional Credentials:
Applicants should have one of the following:
- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE).
- Evidence of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
- Completion of at least 60 semester hours in relevant engineering courses.
- A curriculum leading to a degree in a scientific field with professional engineering experience.

Additional Requirements:
In addition to the basic education requirement, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

GS-12 Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level, including:
- Involvement in projects related to civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering in hydro powerplants or water conveyance systems.
- Coordination of project phases from initiation to closeout.
- Conducting facility reviews and making recommendations.
- Preparing cost estimates and managing procurement or budgeting tasks.

Experience may include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles that build relevant skills and competencies.
