About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Coordinator to join our team at St. Louis Community College. As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be responsible for processing payroll and benefit payments, providing guidance to payroll staff, and answering questions from employees and payroll staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the day-to-day operations of payroll
  • Review earnings and deduction totals, subsidiary ledgers, garnishments and levies, and other miscellaneous payroll deductions
  • Process off-cycle payroll payments as needed
  • Manage timekeeping maintenance and serve as a resource for employees and supervisors
  • Answer questions from employees and payroll staff
  • Coordinate insurance benefit accounts for retiree, leave of absence, and Family Medical Leave participants
  • Perform account reconciliations on Tax and Benefit accounts
  • Assist in the development of internal procedures, processes, and documentation
  • Provide support and assistance to the Manager, Payroll or Payroll Specialist as directed
  • Serve as backup to the Manager, Payroll in their absence
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and over two years of relevant full-time experience. Preferred qualifications include two years of experience with full cycle payroll.
