About the Opportunity

The University of Central Florida seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Associate Director, Technology Licensing and Operations. This is a key leadership position within the Office of Research - Operations, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of technology commercialization and programs. The Associate Director will partner with the Director to set goals, direction, and expectations for the office, identify and meet stakeholder needs, and foster relationships with faculty, staff, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of Technology Transfer, including supervision of staff and processes.
  • Collaborate with senior administration to provide high-level management and advising for the university's intellectual property program.
  • Review and approve agreements, contracts, and other types of documents related to intellectual property and technology transfer.
  • Identify and implement strategies to build relationships with faculty, staff, and external partners to stimulate researcher engagement and participation in technology transfer.
  • Represent the university at conferences and meetings with the investment community and prospective industry partners.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to foster engagement with the Technology Transfer office.
  • Oversee management of the intellectual property portfolio at various stages of development and protection.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, including leadership experience. A Master's degree or Ph.D. in a physical sciences STEM field is preferred. The candidate must have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Location
