We are seeking a skilled Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our Neurodiagnostic Lab, you will play a vital role in conducting EEG examinations and providing exceptional patient care.

Job Summary

The Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for preparing patients for EEG examinations, conducting the examinations, and collecting relevant information for test interpretation. You will work under the general supervision of a senior staff member and be responsible for performing standard EEG recordings, as well as more complex and specialized recordings. Your ability to adapt methods of instrumentation to obtain optimal results will be essential in this role.

Essential Functions
  • Perform standard EEG recording, including summarizing patient neurologic status and clinical history.
  • Explain the recording procedure to patients, family members, and hospital staff.
  • Adapt methods of instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history, clinical observations, and EEG findings.
  • Provide appropriate patient care and detailed observations of clinical manifestations during seizures/events and other patient emergency situations.
  • Ensure electrical safety of patients at all times.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the standard department workflow in EPIC and skills necessary to complete modification of orders, rescheduling, and all functions in EPIC.
  • Maintain daily interpersonal relationships and communication with clinical team regarding relevant patient information, patient care, and scheduling.
  • Keep equipment in clean operating condition.
  • Perform maintenance and minor repair of laboratory equipment and report need for major repairs.
  • Complete daily workflow tasks in EPIC, W-Ren folder, Neuro-productivity.
  • Assist END Supervisor in program development and laboratory organization.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrates competency with the 10/20 system of electrode placement.
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to perform and have understanding of various different Neurodiagnostic procedures.
  • Independent judgment and initiative.
  • Review of fundamental EEG textbooks through specific reading assignments.
  • Develop rapport with patients from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Interact appropriately and efficiently with nurses, physicians, and patient transporters.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory, Spanish is desired but not mandatory.
  • Referral processing, troubleshooting of EEG equipment, and identification of EEG abnormalities are not required at the beginning END technician I position, but will be acquired with experience.
  • Develop skillset required to identify and manage patients in medical distress.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs; word, outlook with an emphasis on excel.
  • Comfortable with PC and Microsoft Windows Office applications is required.
  • Proficient in typing is required.
