Senior Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA. This is a full-time day shift position in the clinical laboratory, with oversight of Transfusion Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing and interpret test results using scientific knowledge and principles of test procedures and disease processes.
- Develop, maintain, and manage daily technical operations, including staff training and education, implementation of instrumentation, and accreditation readiness.
- Supervise, train, and assess the competency of laboratory staff and students in a 24/7 environment.
- Ensure accurate orders for proficiency surveys and submit survey data.
- Collect and analyze data, and document progress.
- Maintain current policies and procedures in the department and ensure completion of electronic documents according to established assignments and timelines.
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- ASCP or AMT certification required.
- Education, experience, and ASCP/AMT certification must be maintained within the specific discipline of the department.
- Three years of experience required for Transplant Immunology Laboratory.
