Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through the implementation of laboratory procedures and the maintenance of regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate clinical competency in section
  • Perform routine and special lab procedures
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and performance improvement
  • Assist and consult with the laboratory supervisor/director
  • Maintain competency, meet goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related degree
  • 48 months as a medical technologist
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology as a medical laboratory scientist or international medical laboratory scientist
  • Louisiana license as a clinical laboratory scientist
Work Environment

The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
