Position Summary

IBJI Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC) play a crucial role in a dynamic orthopedic practice, embodying IBJI's core principles of patient-centered care, musculoskeletal treatment, and teamwork. The ATC serves as a vital link between patients, physicians, physical therapists, and clinical support personnel. Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Managing daily operations of a designated physician's practice.
  • Delivering outstanding care to patients and clients.
  • Providing athletic training coverage at various contracted events.
  • Educating the community on injury prevention and health awareness.
Key Responsibilities
  • Foster excellent patient care.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills to educate patients about their care plans.
  • Build positive relationships with physician teams at IBJI.
  • Coordinate with physicians, clinical staff, and guardians regarding patient conditions and treatment protocols.
  • Develop rehabilitation and treatment plans in alignment with physician recommendations.
  • Ensure proper referral of patients for accurate diagnosis.
  • Conduct diagnostic and follow-up procedures, tracking injuries accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with daily paperwork and patient electronic health records (EHRs).
  • Participate in IBJI-sponsored programs, including clinical meetings and community outreach.
  • Manage prevention, assessment, evaluation, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of athletic injuries for patients of all ages.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of proper body mechanics.
  • Independently schedule and conduct DME brace fittings, educating patients on proper usage.
  • Provide medical coverage at external games, practices, and tournaments as required.
  • Respond to voicemail and email inquiries from patients and clinical staff promptly.
  • Attend continuing education seminars to maintain licensure.
  • Adhere to HIPAA/OSHA guidelines and regulations.
  • Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor as needed.

  • Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to lift over 25 pounds.
