Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in all weekly club meetings and competitions, collaborating with students, parents, school staff, and the FACE team to create an enriching and inclusive experience.
  • Meet regularly with the Afterschool Programs Manager to discuss preferred practices and competition schedules.
  • Report to the Afterschool Programs Manager, who approves all fundraising efforts, purchases, expenses, and contracts with third parties.
Project Outcomes:
  • Continued growth in scholars enrolled and competition success.
  • Elevated skill levels and enthusiasm for chess among program participants.
  • Successful organization and execution of chess tournaments and events.
  • Scholars involved in chess club learn from the experience of being involved in a competition and have fun in the process.
Time Commitment:
  • Weekly meetings and competitions.
