Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a Weekend Program. As a Pharmacy Technician-Specialty Pharmacy Operations, you will play a critical role in preparing and delivering medications to patients and nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Demonstrates the ability to competently work in different general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice.
  • Participates in the training of new employees.
  • Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
  • Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 6 months minimum relevant experience required
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
Physical Demands

Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
