Job Summary

This overnight position involves preparing and delivering medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
  • Participates in the training of new employees to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Fills and delivers medications in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of quality assurance.
  • Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed.
  • Operates pharmacy equipment efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 6 months minimum relevant experience required
  • Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required
  • CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required
Physical Demands

Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
