Nurse Practitioner Psych Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Phoenix House. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical care and assessment to chemically addicted residents and residents withdrawing from alcohol and/or drugs.
Responsibilities- Meet the medical assessment and treatment needs of each resident
- Provide safety assessment for withdrawal symptoms or other potentially life-threatening behavior or conditions within 24 hours of admissions
- Notify on-call physician of immediate crisis
- Provide peer-to-peer reviews to managed care companies and other healthcare entities
- Conclude a medical assessment within 7 days of admission and a full history and physical, when necessary, within 21/45 days of admission
- Conduct a medical assessment of physical and mental health conditions and medical treatment to stabilize and then enable the resident to manage chronic health and mental health conditions including treatment of physical health conditions that are routine
- Documenting in the Medical Record using Welligent, past medical history, physical findings, diagnoses, treatment plan, written orders, and prescriptions if indicated
- Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation to support submission of claims to financial entities
- Will provide coverage at Phoenix House locations based on need either in-person or virtually
- Ensure that all necessary follow-up, either with outside clinics, physician, or NP, is both ordered and obtained
- Responsible to evaluate for follow-up or sick call, any patient who has been triaged by a facility nurse
- Will provide care and supervise the transfer of patients to the emergency room as warranted
- Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
- Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts
- Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state
- Preferred qualifications include experience in counseling and teaching and a master's degree
This job operates in an indoor medical clinical environment. This role also routinely meets patients who may have contagious illnesses. Appropriate PPE will be provided and required.
