Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in rendering nursing care in assigned areas. You will be responsible for tending to individualize patient needs, according to the dependent and independent nursing functions. You will utilize nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patient/family as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes
- Insertion of IV's, observing patient response
- Maintain and coordinate communication among patient/significant other, staff and physician as evidenced within medical record, client, and health care team feedback
- Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients
- Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by another department feedback
- Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner
- Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated
- Cross train to scrub and assist in Femto
- Special projects and other duties may be assigned as needed
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Valid registration as an LPN in the state of Pennsylvania
- Completion of relevant state Board of Nursing approved
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS)
- Current BLS certification or obtain within 6 months of employment
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
- Solid attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure individually and as part of a team
Work Schedule:
- Rotating Schedule – Days
Salary Range:
- $30.00- $35.00 /hour to commensurate with experience
