Maven is seeking a seasoned Senior Editor, Autos to lead our digital operations focused on breaking, trending, and viral automotive news content. This role will oversee daily auto content, assign and edit to a team of freelance writers, and contribute to the development of compelling story ideas and concepts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee, assign, and write breaking news and trending content based on daily auto news
  • Possess a specific interest and expertise in car trends, electric vehicles, and personalities in the space
  • Assist in identifying potential stories by closely monitoring breaking news and trending topics via industry research and analysis
  • Provide input on compelling story ideas and concepts that attract audiences
  • Develop editorial calendars and organize the coverage across the auto landscape, from news to events, car reviews, and more
  • Assist in providing interesting insights and analysis that are engaging, impactful and shareable
  • Share your deep understanding of digital audiences, how traffic moves across search and social, and how to capture those audiences
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in journalism, English or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience and success in digital journalism at a recognized news organization
  • Newsroom management experience
  • An understanding of the auto industry as well as the online media landscape
  • Strong editorial, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Creative storytelling ideas
