Position Overview

The Environmental Services Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily functions of the Environmental Services Department. This role involves the implementation of established protocols and practices related to environmental sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fosters the objectives of the Environmental Services department by recruiting, inspiring, and developing skilled team members.
  • Guides the activities of the Environmental Services team by providing clear communication and direction to meet departmental goals.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions of staff; ensures timely completion of performance reviews.
  • Organizes, schedules, assigns, and supervises work to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assesses, proposes, implements, and monitors approved workflow modifications.
  • Receives and executes special assignments from management as required.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies necessary for operations.
  • Manages supply upkeep; reviews inventory levels in storage to ensure compliance with established standards; requests and retrieves necessary supplies on a regular basis.
  • Evaluates and suggests relevant products and equipment for departmental use.
  • Delivers safety training regarding the use of products, equipment, and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines.
  • Addresses the needs of diverse groups, including those with hearing impairments and physical challenges, while considering various issues related to the facility.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned. All responsibilities outlined here are considered essential functions of the role.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of pertinent experience along with 0-2 years of leadership or management experience is required.
