Job Title: Deputy Team Chief, Chemical Security and UN Sanctions Compliance

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Team Chief to support the Chemical Security Program (CSP) and United Nations Sanctions Compliance Program (UNSCP) in preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, expertise, and delivery systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Co-lead and provide strategic guidance to a team of national security professionals on CSP and UNSC teams.
  • Coordinate with Department of State policy stakeholders to ensure CSP and UNSC capacity building programs align with and advance Department policy priorities.
  • Advise Team Chief on program strategic direction, day-to-day team operations, and implementing policies and practices that support CSP and UNSC program staff.
  • Design, develop, and execute innovative approaches to improve CTR's ability to conduct international threat reduction programs.
  • Oversee and manage CSP and UNSC budgetary processes, ensuring effective use, tracking, and reporting on team financial expenditures.
  • Lead CSP and UNSC efforts to seek, maintain, track, and report on foreign funding.
  • Brief bureau principals and CTR leadership on CSP and UNSC activities.
  • Represent CSP and UNSC at diplomatic engagements and interagency meetings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years' experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of five years' experience working on USG nonproliferation or counterproliferation programs.
  • Master's degree in a relevant policy or technical discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success advancing U.S. counterproliferation priorities and skillfully engaging both policy and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in foreign partner capacity building and relationship management with international partners and/or multilateral organizations.
  • Strong skills in interagency coordination, communication, and networking.
  • Outstanding skills in written and verbal communication, diplomacy, teamwork, facilitation, and project management.
  • Prior experience managing a team of national security professionals is preferred but not required.
  • International travel is required; foreign language skills are a plus.
  • Must be located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area or willing to relocate to perform the stated duties.
  • Must possess or qualify to be granted an active U.S. government security clearance at the Top Secret level.
