Patient Care Associate

Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Technician provides patient care by performing basic procedures and selected specialized procedures that contribute to the well-being, comfort, and safety of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Participates in the delivery of patient care by performing basic and specialized physical and psychosocial interventions as defined by the Patient Care Technician Skill Inventory.
- Collects and records patient data, including specimens and body fluids.
- Performs technical procedures and reports findings to the nursing staff, including venipuncture for blood samples, EKGs, and telemetry readings.
- Attends to patients' environmental needs, including straightening belongings and offering comfort measures at the direction of the nurse.
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities as directed by the nurse.
- Orients patient/family to the unit and patient room, and provides copies of the Patients' Bill of Rights, as directed by the nurse.
High School Diploma and two years of experience in healthcare delivery in positions such as Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, EMT, Medic/Corps Person, or two clinical semesters completed as a Nursing Student, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $18.76 - $25.45 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the first and last step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
