We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team at The Phoenix At Union Hill.

Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals that meet the expectations of our residents. This is a full-time position that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and Food Service:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of meals, including full-line menu items and therapeutic diets.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in the kitchen, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations regarding food handling and preparation.
  • Organize work efficiently to meet production and service requirements, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and temperature to ensure compliance with minimum guidelines.

Record Keeping/Resident Services:

  • Maintain accurate records of meal production, inventory management, and resident diet preferences.
  • Review and update resident diet books, confidential diet boards, and data cards as needed.
  • Manually record equipment temperatures, refrigerator temperatures, freezer temperatures, cooking temperatures, holding temperatures, cooling temperatures, food production quantities, and taste evaluation sheets.

Requirements:

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
  • One year of job-related experience, including food preparation and full-line menu items.
  • Current SERV Safe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or ability to participate in food services sanitation training to become SERV Safe certified.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
