Job Summary

The Police Officer is a sworn law enforcement professional responsible for maintaining law and order on hospital grounds. This role involves a variety of duties, including patrolling and protecting hospital buildings and grounds, conducting administrative and criminal investigations, making arrests, and enforcing vehicle traffic and parking regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to detect and deter crime.
  • Apprehend subjects committing crimes.
  • Respond to emergency calls, safety escorts, and calls for assistance.
  • Produce complete, accurate, and concise reports.
  • Serve in specialized units such as investigations, fire safety, crime prevention, and training.
  • Complete initial investigations and follow-up investigations.
  • Participate in crime prevention strategies and special programs.
  • Enforce state laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Transport legal documents, valuables, medical instruments, and supplies.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Able to balance multiple demands and respond to time constraints.
  • Able to work any shift for multiple locations.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Attain and maintain a minimum passing score of 80% accuracy during firearms qualification and requalification.
  • General computer skills, including data entry and information security.
