Job Opportunity

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a skilled Test Engineer Total Vehicle Evaluation to join our Commercial Vehicle Development team in Southern California.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough vehicle evaluations to identify potential customer complaint issues and recommend countermeasures.
  • Plan and execute test drives of prototype and pilot commercial vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
  • Organize and execute benchmarking activities on competitive vehicles to stay ahead of the market.
  • Collaborate with Hyundai affiliates in North America to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on technical market trends and customer value of Hyundai vehicles.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and independently to achieve goals.
  • Develop and present technical reports and presentations for management reviews.
  • Manage department budget and assist in planning and monitoring of department budget.

Requirements:

  • Valid light duty driver's license; commercial driver's license desired.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Internet Explorer, and MS Project.
  • Ability to travel domestically (15%) and internationally (5%).

Compensation:

  • $70,000-$100,000.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
  • 2 years of experience and general understanding of human factors and ergonomics concepts.
  • Good understanding of vehicle dynamics, NVH, braking, and electrified powertrain systems.
  • Experience in medium duty and heavy-duty truck programs development.
  • Experience coordinating technical work between international organizations and working in culturally diverse team environments is a plus.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
