Medical Nutrition Therapist Needed at OakBend Medical Center

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Nutrition Therapist to join our team at OakBend Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality food service and nutritional care.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in nutrition or dietetics, with a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university, and completion of an internship through a program approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Additional requirements include a minimum one year of clinical nutrition experience in a hospital setting, with a Registered Dietitian certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. A Texas Licensed Dietitian certification is also necessary within six months of employment.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement medical nutrition therapy plans for patients with complex medical needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care to patients
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy counseling services to out-patients and families
  • Develop and deliver in-service training programs for employees
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement activities
  • Precept dietetic interns and HOSA students
  • Develop and deliver community presentations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition or dietetics from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of an internship through a program approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Minimum one year of clinical nutrition experience in a hospital setting
  • Registered Dietitian certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Texas Licensed Dietitian certification within six months of employment
  • ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and counseling skills
