GENERAL FUNCTION

The Optometric Support Specialist at EssilorLuxottica plays a vital role in enriching the lives of patients by providing outstanding service and ensuring the highest standards of care.

Consistently meets patient needs through exceptional service.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcomes patients promptly upon arrival, demonstrating urgency in addressing their needs.

Identifies the purpose of the patient's visit; in-store, clarifies the shopping process; in the doctor's office, explains necessary documentation, assessments, products, and services, along with expected timelines.

Maintains attention to detail; reviews prescriptions and patient information meticulously; recognizes special requirements, consulting with Opticians, Doctors, or Retail Management as needed.

Exhibits patience and courtesy towards uncertain or challenging patients.
Completes tasks accurately and thoroughly, even under time constraints and high patient volume. Identifies and resolves issues involving dissatisfied patients swiftly.
Demonstrates proficiency in scheduling procedures and computer operations.
Organizes and manages all patient records efficiently.
Processes contact lens orders, manages shipments, and submits invoices for payment accurately.
Operates the POS system effectively, collecting payments appropriately.
Takes pride in maintaining the store's appearance, showing initiative in keeping displays neat, appealing, and organized.
Alerts management to potential safety concerns.
Adheres to safe work practices.
Complies with all safety and regulatory standards, ensuring proper storage and use of supplies and chemicals.

Conducts all pre-examination tests with precision and care; proactively explains all measurements and addresses any patient inquiries.

Utilizes clinical knowledge to provide guidance on contact lens care and handling.
Maintains and sanitizes contact lens inventory; offers clinical assistance to the Optometrist as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of one year of strong customer service experience (internal/external)
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Excellent communication and listening skills with patients and team members.
Strong foundational math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Exceptional interpersonal skills (friendly, compassionate, patient)
Sales acumen
Familiarity with store products
Proficient with cash registers, computers, and calculators

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in customer service, retail, or optical settings

Pay Range:
Compensation is determined by various factors, including location, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage laws.

Additionally, you may be eligible for a competitive bonus and/or commission structure, complementing a comprehensive rewards package.
