Position Overview:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide clinical leadership for all facets of patient care in an outpatient environment under the guidance of a physician or advanced practice provider. Your role will involve demonstrating clinical proficiency by applying evidence-based practices across the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment: Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments utilizing age-specific standards and tools. Recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions, manage clinical needs within your scope of practice, and apply critical thinking to enhance patient care.
  • Planning and Outcomes: Collaborate with healthcare providers to formulate effective care plans. Make appropriate referrals based on thorough assessments.
  • Implementation: Deliver direct patient care in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to established care plans and priorities. Perform tasks in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, while ensuring the quality of care.
  • Evaluation: Communicate changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team and document all relevant information accurately.
  • Patient and Family Education: Assess and address the educational needs of patients and their families, using clear language and examples to facilitate understanding and involvement in their care.
  • Professional Accountability: Continuously evaluate your nursing practice against professional standards and regulations. Maintain licensure and engage in ongoing education to enhance community health outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred. Must hold a valid nursing license in South Carolina.
