We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Educational Support Specialist to join our team at Memphis Shelby County Schools. The successful candidate will assist school teachers in creating a well-organized and smoothly functioning classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist assigned teachers in preparing instructional materials and preparing classrooms for activities.
  • Supervise and assist children in the classroom and in other areas of the school.
  • Reinforce classroom lessons and provide other assistance as requested.
  • May be responsible for providing assistance to special needs students or coordinating special projects and programs as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours), or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Must be able to obtain the Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) within two (2) years of the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
