About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Unit Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Reston Hospital Center. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift.

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), you will collaborate with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures. You will serve as a resource person for staff and model a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient-centered care.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other members of the management team.
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment that supports improved outcomes and service through collaboration with subject matter experts and other managers.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support engagement initiatives by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Contribute to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, recommending and implementing courses of action related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, managing all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of medical/surgical experience and current charge experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

We offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes a competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for growth and development. Our estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
