About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Technician to join our team at Alpla Inc. in a mold shop operations role. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mold maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mold Maintenance
    • Perform routine cleaning and inspection of molds to ensure optimal performance
    • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime
    • Document all maintenance activities and record-keeping
  • Machining
    • Assist the local Toolmaker in modifying and repairing parts as needed
    • Sandblast molds and blow pin tips
    • Sharpen cutting rings and stitch knives
    • Report damaged equipment to the Toolmaker/Production Manager
  • Inventory Control
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all mold-related drawings
    • Maintain accurate quantities of all mold-related spare parts
    • Order spare and/or replacement parts as needed
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with Production Planners to align toolroom activities and mold readiness with overall production goals
    • Liaise between plant and external mold vendors
    • Maintain communication between the NOAM Mold Specialists on all mold-related matters
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 1-2 years of manufacturing or related experience
    • Previous experience in mold maintenance/preparation is preferred
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Mechanical ability
    • Good computer skills
    • Able to lift up to 50lbs
    • Able to operate Forklifts
