Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. In this role, you will provide direct patient care services, including vital sign monitoring, ADLs, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Observation: Observe patients to ensure their safety and well-being, reporting any concerns to the Charge Nurse.
  • Patient Care: Provide basic patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Documentation: Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient care in the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Professional Growth: Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, and attending in-services.
Qualifications

Essential qualifications include a High School or GED Equivalent, CNA or Cert EMT-B (ICU) or 1 semester accredited nurse prog, and CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days.

Non-essential qualifications include bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, and 6 months patient care experience.
