Role Summary: The Senior Manager of Product Engineering is integral to the innovation and enhancement of our product offerings. This position collaborates closely with various teams, including Design & Innovation, to ensure that our product development aligns with market needs and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main contact for all product engineering inquiries within the corporate office.
- Engage in product sample evaluations and provide technical insights to refine prototypes.
- Contribute to strategic innovation projects spearheaded by the Design and Innovation team.
- Support the private brands team with technical expertise and project management to enhance product manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, performance, and reliability.
- Maintain regular communication with Product Engineering and Sourcing teams across global offices.
- Utilize technical knowledge to foster continuous improvement of existing product lines.
- Travel to international manufacturing sites as necessary for development and enhancement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to offer technical support for quality enhancement projects.
- Work alongside senior leadership in Product Development and Global Sourcing to shape future strategies for the organization.
- Provide insights for immediate adjustments to current operational strategies.
- Lead and support sustainability initiatives within the private brands team.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques, and product design principles.
- Solid understanding of consumer goods product development processes.
- Adept at problem-solving with strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience in product manufacturing environments.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in product development, engineering, or manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a retail or e-commerce context is advantageous.
