Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the surgical team in the operating room.
Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team in providing skilled care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the scrub role and ability to scrub on a wide range of procedures.
- Develop and maintain aseptic technique and handle instruments/equipment in the OR with precision.
- Participate in the planning of care for patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, employees, and physicians verbally and in writing.
- Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program or minimum 2-year ORT experience preferred.
- Cardiac experience and BCLS certification required.
- Certification by an approved certification body, such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) and/or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), preferred.
